Claremont Methodist Church is in close proximity to Cavendish Square Shopping Centre and the surrounding Claremont Business District. This ministry was born out of the vision that if someone, who was at work nearby, was struggling with a crisis and needed someone to talk to (i.e. during their lunch hour), we could provide such a person.
Arrangements are made through the Church Office, will connect such a person with a counsellor so that they can meet at the church at a mutually agreeable time.
We have a small group of people of different ages trained in basic counselling skills in order to provide a short-term intervention in the event of someone in crisis. This ministry is available to both members of the congregation and members of the public. Should the problem be out of our range of expertise, we would refer to a professional.
People who take advantage of this service will be treated with the utmost of respect and confidentiality.
